目的

In the atmospheric building of Kyoto Art Center, a former Meirin Elementary School, this program will be held to enjoy the sounds of vinyl records on a gramophone with commentary. The program will be led by the artist, Ishii Shinji, who will present a selection of his own special tunes from his valuable collection.

Lecturer Profile

■Kamemura　Masaaki
Born in Kyoto in 1932. Planned and produced radio and TV music programs centering on classical music at Kyoto Broadcasting System Corporation (now KBS Kyoto). After retiring, he worked as a university lecturer and producer of Kyoto Concert Hall, and since 2003 has been a planner, host, and facilitator of the Meirin Record Club.

■Ishii Shinzi
Writer, born in Osaka in 1966 and currently lives in Kyoto. Winner of the 2003 Tsubota Joji Literary Award for "Mugifumi Kutsue" and the 2012 Sakunosuke Oda Award for "A Day in the Life". Author of many novels, including "Buranko Rider," "Poe no Hanashi," "Mizu-Umi," and "Yon to Sore Sore Kokoku," and essays, including "Kuma ni miena ni nai ka," and "Towa no Ashi no Hanashi.
