What is Volunteer Staff?

Since its establishment, Kyoto Art Center has established and operated a volunteer staff system with the aim of supporting the Center's activities and revitalizing the Center and the local community through interaction with artists working at the Center and interaction with volunteer staff. Currently, less than 200 volunteer staff members of all ages, men and women from various backgrounds are registered. In addition to supporting the activities of the center, such as monitoring exhibitions, accepting performances, assisting with the production of artworks, and reception at the library, volunteer staff are also actively engaged in voluntary activities such as club activities and tea ceremony hands-on classes.

Volunteer orientation

New volunteer briefing sessions are held for about three months. Once the date and time have been decided, we will let you know here. Participation is free and advance reservation is required.

Voluntary activities of volunteer staff

Kyoto Arts Club

This circle was born from the Ladybug Project 03 "Kyoto Art Club" (implemented in March 2012). At the suggestion of Mr. Yukio Fujimoto, the volunteer staff of Kyoto Art Center think about what they want to do, plan and manage it independently, and hold a variety of events. Currently, various projects such as "gallery tours" and "handicraft classes" are continuing. It is a circle that realizes the feeling of wanting to do some artistic activities. tea ceremony experience salon “IPPUKU“

In order to learn about the "spirit of hospitality" in the tea ceremony, volunteer staff and volunteer members of the Kyoto Art Center Friendship Association hold a tea ceremony almost every Tuesday in the Japanese-style room "Meirin". Why don't you enjoy tea together while learning the basics of the tea ceremony at practice?

Classical Performing Arts Voluntary Study Group

I want to know more about classical performing arts and learn more! A study session that is perfect for those who say. It is planned voluntarily by the support staff of Kyoto Soseiza. Each time, we decide on a theme and study the basics of traditional performing arts so that we can enjoy them casually.

KAC Supporters

The Kyoto Art Center was established in April 2000 with the aim of comprehensively promoting the arts in Kyoto City. In addition to exhibitions, stage performances such as music, theater, dance, and traditional performing arts, various workshops, and the discovery and training of artists and people involved in the arts, we provide a studio as a place for production and practice, and support domestic and foreign artists through artist-in-residence programs. Through these activities, Kyoto Art Center aims to become a hub for the creation of new art and urban culture.
In order to make the activities of these centers more attractive, we are asking for your financial support. For those who support us, we have a small perk for you.
