Purpose
Kyoto Art Center aims to create new and challenging arts and culture by inspiring, fusing, and dissolving different paradigms such as traditional performing arts and contemporary art. To that end, we launched the "Co-program" in 2017 to strengthen collaboration with artists and arts groups that are at the core of creativity and create new value by supporting their activities.

Application Guidelines
The Co-program accepts business plans for collaboration with Kyoto Art Center. After screening, the applicant and Kyoto Art Center will become co-organizers and work together on creation and experiments to realize the selected plan.
Application period:
Usually scheduled for October to December
Evaluation criteria:
(1) Novelty and experimental nature (expected to present new possibilities to the arts scene in Kyoto and both domestically and internationally)
(2) Timeliness (expected to help artists and arts groups step up through this project)
(3) Necessity of collaboration with Kyoto Art Center (utilizing facilities such as studios and the characteristics of the space, etc.)
Eligibility: Artists and artistic groups that are actively engaged in artistic expression and ongoing activities to promote interaction with citizens, as well as individuals and groups that support them.
*If there are no applications that match the purpose of the program, your plan may not be selected.
There are three categories for applications depending on the type and field of support:
・Category A: "Co-production" (performance projects)
・Category B: "Co-hosting" (exhibition projects)
・Category C: "Joint experiments" (research, lectures, workshops, etc.)
*Category D "KAC Selection" (supporting only presentations in the performing arts fields such as theater, dance, music, and traditional performing arts), which was conducted until 2022, has now closed its applications, and from 2023, the "KAC Partnership Program" will be conducted as a new open application project.
