Facilities that anyone can use freely
当センターでは、文化会館やホールのような貸館・貸室は行っておりません。ただし、制作室、講堂、ギャラリーなどについては、公募・審査により利用者を選考し、原則無料でお使いいただいております。制作室での創作活動をご希望の方は制作支援事業<を、講堂やフリースペース等での公演や発表等をご希望の方はCo-programをご覧ください。公募の時期等は、センターホームページや京都芸術センター通信などでお知らせします。

Art × Business Co-Creation Center "Vessel"
Kyoto City is renting out part of the Kyoto Art Center facility as an office for startups, social businesses, and other companies and entrepreneurs, and as of April 2024, seven companies are occupying it.

Studio North Building 1~3F, South Building 2~3F (12 rooms)
This is a studio for artists (groups) to create works of art and practice performing arts.
Gallery North Building 1F, South Building 1F (2 rooms)

Auditorium West Building 2F
It is the largest space in the Kyoto Art Center. A baton is installed on the ceiling to hang lighting and sound equipment. It is used for various stage performances and performances.
Japanese-style Hall West Building 2F
A large hall with a coffered ceiling with 78 tatami mats. It is a room that still retains the remnants of its elementary school days. It is used for a wide range of events such as traditional performing arts performances, tea ceremonies, and exhibitions.
Multi-purpose Hall West Building 1F
A large hall with a coffered ceiling with 78 tatami mats. It is a room that still retains the remnants of its elementary school days. It is used for a wide range of events such as traditional performing arts performances, tea ceremonies, and exhibitions.
Japanese-style Room “Meirin” South Building 4F
A Japanese-style room with 15 tatami mats (with a water shop). It is used for Meirin tea ceremonies, workshops and exhibitions of traditional performing arts. This room was originally used as an alumni hall for Meirin Elementary School.
Meeting Room 2 South Building 3F
It is used for lectures, symposia, and other events.
Workshop Room North Building 1F
There is a gas stove, a sink, and an electric furnace, and it is used as a venue for dyeing and weaving, pottery, workshops, etc.
Cafe South Building 1F
On the 1st floor of the South Building, there is a long-established café in Kyoto, "Maeda Coffee's Meirin Store". It can be used for a wide range of purposes such as lunch and café use.

In the library, you can browse the business records of Kyoto Art Center, as well as books and materials related to art and culture that you have collected.

We collect and arrange posters, flyers, DMs, etc. from galleries, art galleries, and halls in and around Kyoto City, as well as throughout Japan.
