Co-program 2023 Category A “Co-production” adopted project
First performance composed, directed and choreographed by Takuya Takemoto

Resist landscapeification.
When you think you don’t need to see it, you rather see it.
Just as there is nothing you don’t need to see,
there is nothing to see.

Perform
even where the audience is not
watching.
A really good performance doesn’t need to be seen.
If it is doing work for the world.

TAKEMOTO Takuya, who performs with subtle movements out of an interest in the fundamental situation of performing arts in which “people stand in front of people,” has been performing almost daily with or without an audience since 2017.Takemoto’s performances sharpen the viewer’s senses through watching, and shake up the perception of subtle things that are missed in daily life.
This performance will be Takemoto’s first choreographic work. The three performers are OoSAKI Akinobu, TAKIGOSHI Takahiro, and NAKAYA Yuuki, all of whom have backgrounds in diverse fields such as theater, dance, and contemporary art.The auditorium of Kyoto Art Center will be inspired and quietly awakened by the presentation of “being” of each of them, which has been formed after about a year of creation. How can we perceive what happens in front of us through a performance that continues to be a process that is never completed?
