2. Eligibility

1. An artist who is trying new artistic expressions and continuously developing his activities. The genre of expression does not matter.
2. Artists who are planning to present their works at the Kyoto Art Center at venues other than the Kyoto Art Center for exhibitions or performances (including video streaming)
3. Artists with a willingness to interact with the public

* Please submit an activity plan for half a year ~ 1 year, including the period of use and the main presentation plan, using the prescribed form.
*As a general rule, the main works will be presented at a venue other than Kyoto Art Center.
* If the production and presentation of the main work are inseparable, or if the presentation is only online, the application will not be precluded, but it will be judged based on the judging criteria in "8 Selection Method".
* It cannot be used for purposes other than production, such as a presentation venue, an audition venue for which participation fees are collected, or a profitable classroom or course.

3. Terms of use

1. To hold the "Meirin Workshop," an exchange project with citizens (in principle, it is held on the first and third Tuesday of every month). Or hold a workshop at "STUDIO OPEN DAY" to be held during the period.
2. Be sure to participate in the "User Liaison Meeting (held on the second Tuesday of every month)" held during the period of use.
3. When presenting works created at Kyoto Art Center, the credit for the "Kyoto Art Center Artists-in-Studios program" and the "Kyoto Art Center logo" (optional) must be displayed in the publicity materials.
4. Cleaning studio and common spaces.
5. Comply with the “Studio Usage Regulations" notified at the time of use decision.
6. If there is a change in the content for which you have received permission after the decision to use the product, you must promptly submit a notification of change and receive approval.
7. A project completion report must be submitted within one month after the end of the period of use here .

* If the above conditions are not met at the time of use, the use may be restricted or canceled. In addition, it will be reflected in the selection of future use.

4. 使用にあたって

1. When using Studio, please use it in accordance with various laws, regulations, and guidelines, such as the Personal Information Protection Law.
2. The cost of production and rehearsals, as well as the equipment, etc., must be prepared and borne by the user. In addition, the user must return and clean the equipment when using Studio. The ancillary facilities of Kyoto Art Center may not be available due to circumstances such as independent projects.
3. Normal use is free of charge, but if you use water, electricity, etc. beyond the normal level, you may be charged a substantial burden.
4. There is no parking at Kyoto Art Center. Please use public transportation.
   In addition, if you need to use a vehicle for loading and unloading, please contact the secretariat in advance.
5. Smoking is prohibited on the premises of Kyoto Art Center.
6. Please take your garbage home with you.

5. Recruitment details

When using Studio, if it is recognized that any of the following items apply, the use may be restricted, suspended, or canceled.

1. When Studio is used for a reason other than the purpose of use for which it was requested.
2. When the user uses Studio without permission on a day or time without permission.
3. When the user uses Studio without permission.
4. When the applicant fails to submit the "Notification of Change of Application for Permission to Use Kyoto Art Center" without a valid reason.
5. When the proper use of facilities, equipment, etc. is neglected.
6. When the facilities, equipment, etc. are lost or damaged intentionally or due to gross negligence.
7. When the main purpose of religious, political, or for-profit activities is used.
8. When it is recognized that noise, foul odor, etc. will cause inconvenience to other users or nearby residents.
9. In addition, when it is recognized that there is a hindrance to the smooth management and operation of Kyoto Art Center.

6. How to apply

Please read the application guidelines carefully and submit the following documents (1)-(4) by e-mail. * Only if it is unavoidable, it can be mailed to Kyoto Art Center. Please send it with the subject line "Application for permission to use Studio _ Organization name", attach the documents (1) to (4) below to the e-mail, and specify the number of attachments in the text. We will reply to you within 10 days with a confirmation email.

   *Please submit either Word or PDF.
2. Application for permission to use Studio (Excel)
   * Please put it on A4 and 6 pages and submit it as an Excel file.
   * It has become a new style from the 50th period. Please note that if you apply in the previous form, you may not be selected due to lack of materials.
3. Proposals and income and expenditure budgets for production and presentation works (free format)
   * Please submit a proposal and an income and expenditure budget that describe the contents in detail separately from (1) and (2). Be sure to indicate your intention to create the product.
4. Activity record (optional, free format)
   Videos of scheduled performances or past works, and materials that show the contents of past activities (past performance flyers, critiques, stage photos, video links, etc.). Please keep it within 4 pages of A4.
   * For video materials, please send us the URL of a video viewing site such as Vimeo or YouTube.
   * Services that require downloading at the time of viewing, such as file transfer services, cannot be used.
   * We do not accept the submission of materials at the counter or by mail.

7. Application Period

8. Selection process

A committee composed of experts will conduct the examination in accordance with the criteria described below. Based on the results of the screening, Kyoto Art Center will adjust the date and time to be used and Studio.
Even if the screening results are excellent, such as during periods when the use of the Kyoto Art Center is concentrated, the wishes may not be reflected.

Judging Criteria

A committee composed of experts will conduct the examination in accordance with the criteria described below. Based on the results of the screening, Kyoto Art Center will adjust the date and time to be used and Studio.

Judging Criteria

The following points are considered for a comprehensive evaluation.

• The project must be experimental or expected to be expandable.
• The announcement is open to the public.
• The presentation venue, performance date, and exhibition period have been decided, and there is a high possibility that it will be feasible.
• There is a necessity to produce the presentation venue, rehearsal content, and creative work in Studio.
• Through the use of Studio, there is a clear vision of the development of the activities of the user or the user organization.

*We welcome young people who are trying to get their activities on full foot, as well as individuals and groups who are trying to develop their own initiatives by taking advantage of the environment of Studio.

9. Result of the Examination

All applicants will be notified of the results of the examination by e-mail at the following time, in principle.
